Brass and Woodwinds
Music Academy South is pleased to provide outstanding instruction for
students who are starting a brass or woodwind instrument. Often a band director doesn't
have enough time to train each of their students on their instrument. Lessons with an
MAS teacher will help students with fundamentals of their instrument; develop
music reading skills and, very importantly, their confidence level. Beginner through
advanced brass and wind players are sure to find a musical mentor here.
Private Lessons: 30-, 45-, 60-minutes

his love of music within a newer generation. Ricardo has shared the stage with a number of
notable artists such as Branford Marsalis and has completed his second bachelor's
degree in jazz studies. When not teaching, you can find him touring with his band "Dub
Addis," performing regular concerts at his church or working toward releasing his

music with Mr. James!

Tripp Miller
Guitar
Tripp Miller has been playing guitar for over twenty years. With a degree from Louisburg College
in Music, he learned many aspects of expressive playing in hard rock bands.
Through the years, rock and blues bands have been great training environments for
practical teaching, performing and learning. At one time in Tripp's life, he even had to
learn a different finger-style due to an injury, thus having to learn to play all over
again. In addition, Tripp is certified as a TEFL teacher, and spent the last part of 2006
in Mexico teaching English as a foreign language. Upon his return, he combined all
these experiences and began offering private guitar lessons. He has been teaching
independently for about a year and a half and is very happy to be working with Music
Academy South.
